EXTRA INFORMATION



If you have downloaded this software from a bulletin board such as
Compuserve it would have been compressed using PKZIP. You should use
PKUNZIP to uncompress the .ZIP file onto a floppy diskette. In this way
you will create yourself a ready-made install/deinstall disk which you can
use straight away to install the software automatically onto your hard
disk and/or copy/distribute to other users.

Library Manager requires that SHARE.EXE is installed on your machine to
operate correctly. It also requires that your CONFIG.SYS FILES= statement
is modified to at least FILES=50.

PAYMENT FOR SOFTWARE

You can pay for Library Manager in a number of ways: you can post me a
cheque for the value mentioned on the application main screen to my home
address.
Alternatively, you can pay via Compuserve. Compuserve has a facility whereby
shareware authors can register their software. If a piece of software is
registered in the Compuserve database, then an automated payment system is
available.
This provides an easy way to pay for Shareware software, particularly for
overseas users.
To access the Compuserve payment system, GO SWREG. Library Manager's
registration id is 4652. SWREG will automatically deduct the charge for
Library Manager from your Compuserve account and transfer it to mine.



RUNNING THE APPLICATION FOR THE FIRST TIME

Library Manager has its own in-built security system. When you log on for
the first time after installation, in order to access the system you should
sign on as user SYSADM with password SYSADM.
SYSADM is the System Administrator user ID and is the highest level user.
Until the System Administrator has logged into the System Administrator
program and configured user passwords (Options/Password Maintenence) no
other users will be able to access the system because no password file
will have been created. SYSADM is the only user ID which can logon to
Library Manager when there is no password file present - there has to be a
way into the system for extreme circumstances!
